Tinkerbell's Teapot

Wasn't sure how this was going to turn out, usually do my teapots as purely decorative, made out of polystyrene, but this one was done with chocolate sponge.  All worked out fine though and I was rather pleased with the way Tinks little teapot house turned out.

Cake is chocolate sponge, filled and iced with chocolate buttercream then covered in sugar paste.  All decor, including Tink is modelling paste.

Looking at it now, I think I should have added some tufts of grass and smaller flowers with royal icing, just to add some texture to the cake, but overall, happy with the result.

Okay, after months of trial and error trying to put this blog together, I've finally got to the point where I'm ready to do my first post!

This Tinkerbell cake was done for a little girls birthday last week.  The base is chocolate sponge filled with chocolate butter cream and Tinks skirt is vanilla sponge filled with vanilla butter cream.  Both are covered wtih sugar paste and decorated with royal icing and sugar paste accents.  Wings are acetate and came with the doll.
